Daybreak Pregnancy Care Center is part of a long-standing tradition of Pregnancy Resource Centers (PRCs), nonprofit organizations dedicated to providing essential support to women and men facing challenging decisions about pregnancy. The modern PRC movement began in the late 1960s, when states started to remove legal restrictions on abortion. In response, several pro-life advocates, including Robert J. Pearson and others, established volunteer-run pregnancy centers offering free pregnancy testing, counseling, and other forms of support.

The PRC movement quickly spread across the United States, and major organizations like Heartbeat International and Care Net emerged, bringing together thousands of pregnancy centers. Today, PRCs continue to serve millions of individuals each year, providing services such as pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, parenting education, and counseling.

Daybreak Pregnancy Care Center was founded under the leadership of Claire Stevens, our former Executive Director, whose dedication and passion laid the foundation for the center’s mission. Her commitment to life-affirming care and support for families has shaped Daybreak into the trusted community resource it is today. Since then, we have grown to serve families across Dooly, Crisp, and Wilcox counties, offering free services that empower parents to make informed decisions.

 

We provide parenting classes, material assistance through our Baby Boutique, and spiritual counseling, all within a caring, Christ-centered environment. Our goal is to offer both practical help and hope to every person who walks through our doors.

 

At Daybreak, we are also committed to sharing the gospel with our clients, offering not only physical support but also spiritual encouragement. Through our services and educational programs, we aim to equip families with the tools they need to thrive, ensuring that every child and parent is cared for with love and respect.
